SHIP CLASSES 

  • Class A: large sailing vessels and vessels over 24 meters in length (LOA) with square rigs and all other sailing learning vessels over 40 meters in length. Typically, ships in this group are 60 to 120 meters long, with masts 30 to 50 meters high.

  • Class B: traditional sailboats (sloops with gaffsails, ketches, cutters, schooners, etc.) less than 40 meters in length (LOA).

  • Class C: Modern ocean-class sailing yachts with a waterline of more than 9.14 and less than 40 meters in length (LWL) without a spinnaker.

  • Class D: Modern ocean-class sailing yachts with a waterline over 9.14 and less than 40 meters in length (LWL) with a spinnaker.
