Tall Ships Races 2024, a regatta of large sailing training ships taking place in Tallinn this summer, invites children aged 5-12 years to participate in the drawing competition "Wind in the Sails!", which is inspired by the sea, sailing and Tallinn. Works can be sent until March 31, and there will be prizes for the best ones.

According to Tall Ships Races project manager Marje Tõemäe, this extraordinary event is a good opportunity to bring the maritime theme and sailing closer to children and young people, and to see how children perceive living in a city by the sea. "With the children's drawings, we hope to bring a really wide gallery of sea colors to the urban space - sailboats, waves, sun and wind," described Tõemäe.

Drawing competition "Wind in the sails!" is open to all children aged 5-12 years. Each author can submit one work. The format of the drawing is A4 or A3, and the drawings can be portrait or landscape. Please photograph the work and submit it digitally. The drawing must be done by hand (not digitally). You can register for the competition and submit your work at www.tallinn.ee/tuultpurjedesse.

The deadline for submitting drawings is March 31, 2024.

All drawings are reviewed by a jury, which selects the three best drawings in each age category: 5-7 years old, 8-10 years old and 11-12 years old. The winning entries will be announced on Children's Protection Day, June 1, in the outdoor area of Lennusadama. Three winners in each age category will be awarded a prize. The awards are presented by the Tallinn Culture and Sports Authority and Tall Ships Races Tallinn 2024 in cooperation with partners. The best works are exhibited at a public exhibition in Tallinn's urban space.
